The Kings of the Sea
Everything began with the song "Do Leme ao Pontal" by Tim Maia. Upon watching the band Vitória Régia on TV, an Olympic swimmer decided to cover the distance.
When he emerged from the sea, he was cheered by those present on the beach with chants of "King of the Sea, King of the Sea." It was from that moment that the idea arose to promote an open water competition, bringing the top names in the sport to Rio de Janeiro.
Since then, the festival has included female participants and seen appearances by great Olympic figures, such as: Ana Marcela Cunha, Poliana Okimoto, Ferry Weertman, Chad Ho, Ousama Mellouli, Esmee Vermeulen, Yasunari Hirai, Kari-Anne Payne, Rachele Bruni, Allan do Carmo, in addition to thousands of amateur athletes who love outdoor sports.

Solidarity Exchange
At the Kit Pickup, we promote our traditional Solidary Exchange in support of the NGO Pro Criança Cardíaca. Participating athletes donate powdered milk and receive a cap or shirt from previous editions of the event. Over 70 thousand units of powdered milk were collected for the project that serves children and adolescents from underprivileged families with cardiac issues.
